Who Am I?

My name is Roy Gal, and poker has always fascinated me because it is one of the purest environments for decision-making under uncertainty. Every hand presents a complex situation where probability, psychology, discipline, and risk management all come together in real time.

Over the years, poker became much more than a game to me. It became a way to study how people think, how decisions are made under pressure, and how discipline and long-term strategy ultimately outperform short-term emotion.

Through years of playing and studying the game, I have accumulated over €600,000 in live cash game earnings, competing in a wide variety of games and environments. This experience taught me that long-term success in poker is not about luck or individual hands, but about the ability to consistently make strong decisions in uncertain and high-pressure situations.

Alongside my experience at the tables, my professional background in finance and budget controlling further shaped the way I approach poker and decision-making. Working in financial environments requires many of the same principles that define successful poker players: disciplined risk management, careful analysis, long-term thinking, and the ability to remain rational even when outcomes are uncertain.

Through Roy’s Poker Lab, my goal is to share these principles with players who want to improve not only their poker strategy, but also the way they think and approach complex decisions.

Beyond poker, discipline has always been a core part of my life. Fitness and personal development have played a key role in shaping the mindset I bring to both the table and everyday decision-making.

Like many players, I’ve also experienced the challenges that come with high-pressure environments — variance, setbacks, and difficult periods that test both emotional control and resilience.

These experiences reinforced the importance of discipline, mental stability, and long-term thinking. Poker taught me how to stay composed under pressure, adapt to uncertainty, and continue making strong decisions even during difficult phases.

These are the same principles I aim to pass on through my coaching — not just to improve results at the table, but to build a stronger, more disciplined approach to challenges in general. The lessons learned through poker extend far beyond the game itself. They help develop skills that apply directly to everyday life:

discipline and emotional control
• resilience during difficult periods
• strategic thinking under uncertainty
• financial decision-making and risk management
• psychological awareness and understanding human behavior

Poker is simply one of the most powerful environments for developing these abilities.

My aim is to help players build a stronger strategic mindset, improve their decision-making process, and develop the discipline required to perform consistently in high-pressure environments.

Because in the end, poker is not just about winning a single hand — it is about making better decisions over the long run.
